Flea Market Series: Threadszoo Bazaar @Rasta TTDI

It was Threadszoo Bazaar at Rasta TTDI. It was not really a flea market but more to online-boutique-shop goes real. It was fun coz I got to see real life clothes, shoes and accessories that they sell in webbies. Somehow those vintage long dress (like those Japanese old ladies wore during 80s) seem not attractive to me. Anyway, lets look at some of the pics while we were there.

There are a few online boutiques selling their goods at a discounted price. Some just sell them cheap like nunu2you. Among the sellers are buttonmybuttons.blogspot, heartbeats-clothing.com and iamjetfuelshop.blogspot.

I bought a really cool funky rock scarft from iamjetfuelshop.blogspot.com. This shop is so special coz the owner is our local indie singer Yuna (who won runner up in Anugerah Juara Lagu in Jan 2010, also the singer of my favourite songs such as Dan Sebenarnya and Blue Sands). Mula-mula ambil gambar dengan dia jer, tapi takkan ambil gambar tak beli pulak….hehe..but the scarfs are damn cool…I love it so much!…I plan to put some tiny glitter stones and planning to wear it for special occasions only….chewah…

Rock scraf Rocker scraf bought from Yuna’s booth @Iamjetfuelshop RM30 jer…

Tapi, yang mahalnya cuma gambar with Yuna…hehe seriously she’s so cool and soft spoken, gaya pun rileks, and tak errogant pun…well, kalau dia errogant takkan dia nak datang jual menjual nih….best dapat jumpa dia…she was with her cousins at that time.

Looking forward for another Threadszoo Bazaar.

The pressies and tips

After birthday, terus je we asked our son to open his presents. He was so excited too for this is the first time he gets lots of presents. He really ripped the wrappers off and adored all of the presents. Thanks to everyone who gave the presents ya!

I definitely will organise birthday parties again for him. Some tips from my experience:

1) Make sure your guests RSVP properly and have some “extra-just-in-case” guests for you to call if your original guests couldn’t make it.

2) Order your food generously but not too generously. Make sure it’s sufficient for your original guests, not the add ons (sometimes, not all guests can make it, sometimes people don’t like to say that they couldn’t make it)

3) It’s better to follow up with each guest and have them say whether they’re in or out. This will enable you to strategise for no. (1)

4) Have the party at home instead, for maximum comfort and total freedom of time control (but the problem is nak kemas tu satu hal la…)

All in all, have a fun and a happy birthday party.

The birthday party @ Gymboree

So the day arrived. This is my son’s first official birthday party after 3 years. We never had one before. Previous birthdays were only done at home with close family.

Gymboree has always been my son’s ‘school’. Although masa tu mommy worked as auditor, kinda shitty coz every weekend had to work, we still managed to attend Gymboree classes. For previous Gymboree story, click here.

So, since he is a Gymboree member, this special birthday party is dedicated to him before his membership expires.

The thing is, when you organise parties at these places, your guests must arrive on time in order to avoid delay of the activities, or else, it will be dragged until dunno when. Lucky for us, there was no classes after the stipulated time so most of the kids were still running around the Gymboree area having fun even though we had to shift the party from a big area to a smaller area (coz ada art class…terpaksa…..)

Gymboree only provide party packs, helium balloon and deliver their signature Gymboree activity. The rest is your problem. I managed to add a few more stuffs for the goody bag as described in previous post (The prep).

And since only finger foods were allowed, I also managed to contact a caterer to make them (itupun with the help of another friend). The food was cute and tasty. I ordered mini beef burgers, mini chicken pizzas, mini tuna cheese sandwich and mini egg mayo sandwich. Having two types of mini sandwich was not a good idea coz there are many leftovers…I should have chosen the mini chicken boxing instead…coz it’s something different (mahal sikit la )…

The party went on well although not many kids were there. See below for the Gymboree birthday moments…

The picture below was modified using Photokit Colour 2.2 plugin and then was scratched by Totally Rad Dirty Picture plugin (hahaahahhah…..like I now what it means)…my hubby helped to do it lah…I know the Totally Rad thingy can make your pictures as if they just popped out of your really, really old and torn album.

amir gelak Arrgghh!!!…

After some editing using Adobe Illustrator, finally a comic box was placed in the Totally Rad-ed picture….I think I’m falling in love with Illustrator already. With this, I can do anything!!!…chewah…yes, I must learn this from my hubby…free class…

So that’s the birthday story…until next birthday..taaa!

The prep

The occasion is my son’s birthday party. Imagine goody bags, lots of food, colourful balloons, 3D cake, bouncy castle, costumes, professional photographer, real animals such as kangaroo….ok ok stop.

I think I can afford until a 3D cake only. Nevertheless, lets look at the invitation card first.

Of course, a good planning is essential in organising a marvellous unforgettable event. And of course, it has to start somewhere. Yes, for my case, it’s this colourful, cheery book. And it’s gonna be my scribs and scraps of any occasion or party that I will be organising (chewah, macam event manager pulak).

Buku GAP Buku dapat free

Then there’s goody bag for kids….of course there’s the normal party pack (those stuffs that you blow, party hats etc etc). Last time when I organised my niece’s birthday party, I included sticky animals, stickers, cartoon badges, funny specs and mini rubic’s cube.

This time for my son it’s colour pencils, raisins, pudding jelly, mini rubic’s cube (I memang suka benda ni kan?), chocolate chip cookies and sugar icing cookies.
