What a rip off!!!!!!

I have received a phone call from GM’s office and as an apology, De Palma Ampang invited us for a buka puasa in Ampang and that the GM himself would like to meet us personally. As much as I am happy, I obviously had to decline the invitation because the distance between Shah Alam and Ampang is far + traffic jam and everything. The secretary said an official response will be coming my way soon.

This is what I call a professional response. However the way it is, the customer should always be treated well and I personally think that the prompt action and professionalism of the hotel is now commendable.

Berbuka puasa in De Palma Inn Shah Alam, that is… seriously not worth RM45!!!!…..ok, memang la murah tapi Hotel Carlton pun lebih kurang jer….(around RM49 and hello Restoran Barra kat Ampang tu pun RM30 je ok…)..

Ceritanya macam ni, I book kat De Palma for berbuka on 6th Sept 2010 (Monday). I book pun like a week earlier ok, kononnya nak sambut birthday my dad kat situ…lagipun, kitorang every year mesti pergi berbuka kat one of the hotels in Shah Alam ni….De Palma memang selalu la sebab I used to work there and kenal boss sana….

So, we arrived at 7 pm…(lambat, sebab dekat sangat ngan rumah kan….)…First, kena bayar dulu ok, tak pernah pulak pergi berbuka bayar dulu…fine, dah system dia macam tu, kitorang pun ikutkan jer…masa 7 pm tu pun org still ramai kat counter bayaran tu…the damage was RM45 x 6 = RM270 lah kan…fine…

Pastu, gi kat meja…orang ramai tak hengat …biasalah kan…masa hari tu we all went for berbuka kat Shah Alam Convention Centre (SACC) pun ramai gak, tapi tak seramai ni….the whole grand ballroom was used up……and that ballroom can fit 800 pax tau!..bukan tempat tu je…..di mana-mana ada ceruk kosong mesti ada at least two-seater…even on the way to toilet!!!…..fine, so, we all pun sibuk merata-rata lah carik nak makan apa….beratur satu hal, pastu bila dah sampai makanan dah habis!!!…and tak refill pulak tuh…contoh makanan yang tak refill were kambing golek, area nasi kerabu/nasi dagang, lauk pauk (yang dimakan dengan nasi)….you all nak tau….yang diorang refill just the nasi!!!!…

Apa yang I sempat makan pun murtabak separuh (kira-kira dalam RM1.10) pastu kuew teow sepinggan (agak-agak dalam RM4)…air soya dua gelas, ABC 1…weh, tak sampai RM45 pun ok!…

Memang menhampakan!!!!….I even heard people complaining that the food is not enough, a group of people i passed by also said something like they better get refund of RM40 and people shaking heads as a sign of frustration at the nasi kerabu/nasi dagang area…..I even asked the staffs whether there would be any refills but to my dissappointment, memang takde refill ok!!!

Then I bumped into my old boss…borak-borak kejap then I pun cerita my frustration…and what I heard from other people as well….and she said:

(1) banyak orang book last minute suddenly…..---------------> dalam hati aku: abis tu apahal amik kalau makanan tak cukup??…You imagine dalam grand ballroom 800 pax + luar2 tu maybe around 200 pax paling comot la…you can guess brapa diorang dapat 6 Sept tu jer?…1000 pax x RM45 = RM45,000…cubalah darabkan pulak kalau paling comot pun the last 2 weeks of puasa…= RM45k x 14 days = RM630,000!!!!….macam tu jer…. TAPI, makanan tak cukup!!!!…oklah, u all imagine lah ye, even at 8 plus pun orang still queuing for cekodok tepung, keledek celup tepung and roti john (under goreng-goreng area)…orang belum kenyang weh!!!

(2) oh, nanti diorang refill lah tu…..-------------> dalam hati aku: takdenya refill..dah tanya staff dah, even area tu pun dh takde orang…semua pakat lari agaknya…I was struggling for the blue rice pastu korek2 gulai kawah carik cebisan daging sebab my dear Amir yang nak makan nasik kaler biru….memang sakit hati tau!!

(3) pegi lah try makanan lain, ada laksa, ada bubur lambuk……---------------> dalam hati aku: taknak ah bubur lambuk, taknak ah laksa…..makcik aku buat lagi sedap…

(4) tgh nak order ni …------------------> dalam hati aku: hah?!! baru nak order??..apa hal?……

Then she menghilangkan diri ke arah kitchen and never to be seen again…

So, itulah ceritanya….for me lah kan, if you are in a service industry especially hotel, kalau dah ada customer complaint, you should try to offer a better service in future…nak-nak lagi boss kan, you can maybe offer a dinner treat ker, atau apa-apa yg hotel tu offer just to clear your name, I ni yang ada kenalan di hotel tu pun, tak dapat apa-apa, apatah lagi orang-orang yang datang gitu jer…memang tak pandai marketing betul!!!….Nak dapat refund memangla tak dapat kan sebab dah tertulis kat receipt tu…oohhh pandai kau ye, patutla kau suruh semua orang bayar dulu…memang bijak, tapi buat apa bijak kalau tipu duit orang??…In fact, a complaint letter is drafted now to be sent to them…biar diorang tahu sikit…

Yang paling sedihnya, kesian tengok muka my parents especially my dad sebab this was supposed to be a birthday treat for him…makanan tak cukup!!!!!…haaaaaaah bengangnya!!!…..

Kesimpulannya, memang kitorang takkan datang sini lagi unless ada some sort of treat to repair the damage….huh!…memang a rip off!!!….RM270 tu boleh I beli baju raya sebab dahla tahun ni my mom yang belikan baju raya sebab budget dah tight sangat-sangat…..

laaa.. kesiannya kat your dad. Apa la punya teruk bos dia. Kalau i yang komplen, mesti suara i kuat gila bagi semua orang dengar, hehe. u suruh je dia ganti balik. Setakat makan murtabak je memang langsung tak kenyang. Baik pegi makan kat mamak
