Yeeeehuuu!!!..Dah lama kiddos tak gi swimming so since my brother was there with his wife, we took the opportunity to (kacau daun)...i.e.....spend almost 2 hours in the swimming pool!!...yeeehaww!!...

My brother said the service is excellent because they told the hotel that they were on a honeymoon so the hotel staff prepared the room for honeymooners…........... I would definitely want to come here (ajak hubs) (plus, tak ramai orang so its very calming and serene)….tapi bila la kan……(tunggu Amar 2 years plus baru boleh kot)…

Ahhh.....one of those quality family time get together dinner....this time it was in Laman Grill...

This was our first time here. Apparently this restaurant is owned by Chef Zubir Zain (one of the judges in Masterchef)...mari kita rasa makanan dia pula sebab dia done judging kan...ngeh ngeh ngeh...

Meat Lover's Combo Platter RM59.50

My hubby and I ordered a Laman Grill's signature dish, it is a combination of beef shot ribs, spiced lamb kebab, grilled beef fillet mignon, lamb stew, chicken marble, mushroom-cheese sausage, onion rings, potato tart and chef's sauce.

My favourite would be the potato tart and beef shot ribs.....yummm! Sedap weyh!!! Tak rugi rasanya datang sini.....Just nice for 2 person, I was not too full nor felt 'tak cukup'...

My younger brother ordered The Laman Surf & Turf RM79.50. It was a simply lava stone grilled half US lobster and Australian beef tenderloin, open faced oxtail-US Russet twiced, baked potato, sauteed vegetables, stone grilled Sarawak peppercorn sauce. The verdict by my brother: Yummms yumsss yumsss.....nuff said.

My sister ordered Frutti de Mare RM21.50. It was pasta with tiger prawns, Chilean blue mussels, squids rings and Manila clams with mushroom, garlic, chilli padi and Italian fresh basil in a zesty tomato sauce.

Mom ordered Norwegian salmon medalllion and lobster dumpling RM29.50. I didn't get the exact wordings but mom said it was delicious!

My aunty ordered fish and chips. It was...normal...

And finally, my brother and his wife ordered BBQ Skewers Combo Platter RM59.50 - A mediterranean seafood skewer, Southwest American chicken-smoked sausage, Lebanese beef Meshwi, assorted breads, crispy onion rings, pilaf rice, tossed salads and homemade sauces. It was the last dish to arrive and it was quite nice also. My sister loved the Pilaf rice and the skewer set.

Overall, do come earlier if you wanna enjoy the food, jangan jadi cam kitorang datang lambat (but we had our reasons heh).....food sedap, suasana pun best, sesuai nak chillax...nyaman and tak havoc macam kat Seksyen 7 tuh..(no offense to Section 7 fans)....

Oh, except steak dia which my dad said was not up to his standards. Because of his dissatisfaction with the steak, we paid it at a discount. All in all, I think it was alright…..it is open everyday from 11 am to 11pm.

Amir wanted to try Moo Cow so much. We followed his request and went there one Sunday. He's actually a Tutti Frutti fan. So just to expand our horizon on the available froyos in market, we tried Moo Cow. Lets look at the shop first.

Caramel Love

My first time buat caramel...(kuang kuang kuang...orang lain dah expert dah...). With the help of Cikdah my aunty, I managed to make Caramel nih...

What I used:
First I masak 1 cup of sugar sampai hangus, then campur sikit air (caramelised the sugar), at the same time I prepared the water in steamer (so that when I'm done mixing, terus masuk dalam steamer jer).

Then, in a separate container, I add:

6 eggs (buang punat supaya tak hanyir)
1 can of non-condensed milk (I used Ideal brand)
Half can of water,
1 teaspoon of corn flour
1 teaspoon of Essence of Vanilla
2 tablespoon of sugar

and then I kacau (tapi bak kata StillIda, jangan over do it coz it will create bubbles in the caramel pudding).

Put the caramelised sugar in separate bowls and tunggu dia keras pastu masukkan mixture tadi. No effort to bake heh!..Senang!

Tapi memang pun, I berdoa nak hadapi tahun 2012 ni dengan penuh kesabaran dengan segala cabaran yang mendatang. I have never had a new year resolution before, but I rasa this year I already have some. It came like a tick...eh, more like tingggggg *ada gambar mentol..

So long year 2011 (which I thought gonna be good but still suck - money wise). Hopefully this year Allah lapangkan dada dan membuka rezeki yang lebih baik buat I dan keluarga...Aminnnnn

Amir’s orientation in pre-school

So yesterday was Amir's first day of school. I took a half day to send him and observe him while in school. He was ok. In fact, he was a-ok during orientation last week. I guess I'm so blessed to have a good child like him. Moga-moga dia menjadi anak yang soleh dan bijak. Aminnnn!!!

On the first day of orientation, Amir was ok, he knew how to socialise and able to follow the teacher's instructions. Kids were asked to choose a book and held to it until the teacher reads the book for the whole class. After that, they were given a thin book to do a dot-to-dot and some colouring. Amir excelled in dot-to-dot (I'm a proud mom, we always to dot-to-dot together) but his colouring skills were, erm..quite bad..but, baru first day, he just needs practice and he'll be fine. After that, they marched in a choo-choo-train for their brekkie, recite doa before food and later when done they learnt to recite doa after food.

The second day, Amir was a tad hard to wake up, slept while waiting for me to get ready and slept in the car. When we reached his school I touched his hair and said it was messed up. He said, "Ibu janganla pegang rambut Amir, teacher tengok...".."okeyyyy"...I said. He went through the same thing like the first day but they switched coloring after brekkie. Amir seems to be having fun with his friends.

The third day, my husband took him to kindie and left him there, and he was ok so we didn’t have to worry anymore.

After the three days, I have come to a conclusion that it is NOT easy being a teacher in a kindie or nursery. Yes, we might think that its easy for them, they just have to take care of the kids and that's it. But, believe me (and I think you also know this) it is not easy to handle clingy and crying kids. I know I could not do it (that's why Alhamdulillah Allah gave me my kids). It takes a lot of patience and passion to educate and handle toddlers and pre-school kids.

Even to ask them to make a straight line pun satu cabaran ok. Plus, during orientation they grouped all ages together so you can imagine how disastrous it was with kids who cried again and again and being aggressive too. Memang kena banyak bersabar, I rasa i takleh kot.

Masa drop Amir depan tadika semalam, I agak sidih (tapi tak nangis la), since cikgu dia dah tunggu, tak jadik nak hantar sampai masuk kelas....he'll be fine (consoling myself). Ni baru masuk tadika, nanti darjah satu, masuk asrama, masuk kolej/uni, kawin...there'll be many more episodes of his life……..and my life as a mom.

And so you already know that my two bothers are now married. You can read about them; Adiq-qoo dah kawin and Tuwin dah kawin. Majlis menyambut menantu was held in Dewan Seri Endon in Puspanitapuri in Putrajaya. My mom appointed me as a manager of the event. What the heck I know about managing wedding? or co-ordinating?....But my mom said there is no one else best to flank the title other than me (its an honour, I know). So, jadilah haku menejar for the wedding. I had to know everything from food to every small issues like where to put the door gifts. Actually, I thanked my mom for also helping me taking care of the hall and everything. I just menejar (mengejar, like seriously, memang i berkejar ke sana ke sini) on the day itself.

First, lets look at the wedding card:

My husband designed the card so after my approval, and various designs, I chose the one above. Cool tak?..It's simple and cute kan? (perasan jap).

The hall was well decorated by Abg Halim (Seksyen 7). I think he did a great job with the deco, fresh flowers and the wedding dresses and everything, yes everything.

The food was taken care by my uncle (mom's cousin). He used to be the chef in Genting Highlands Hotel. We used to meet him when he was working there. Now, he has his own business; Ikatan Catering. The food was tasty! Apart from normal wedding rice and white rice, he also prepared laksa Penang, roti boom and chicken curry, deep fried quail (puyuh goreng), roasted lamb and desserts such as cream puff, cheese tarts, kuih koci and kuih talam ubi.

The crowd was at its peak from 8 pm to 8.30 pm. I was panicking coz there were not enough places and food for everyone. It was madness! Lagi, orang yang datang taknak balik n lepak je kat meja, so agak jem di situ. Sebab dah kekurangan lauk, luckily my uncle had extra quails so he instantly made them into curry and top up the empty dishes. But, the buffet line was long so maybe some guests were annoyed (seriously, I yang jadik menejar taktau nak buat apa, just acknowledged that my uncle tried his best to top up as soon as he could).

Door gifts pulak, luckily mom ada extra 200 contingency doorgifts. Paling tak best kalau gi wedding tak dpt door gifts kan? (gambar doorgifts pun takde sebab suma licin).

All in all, it was tiring but alhamdulillah everything went well (except for the glitch in the food part)...Will update you with more pictures from the official photographers (sebab seriously mak tak sempat nak amik-amik gambar!).

Wedding Wish Tree: Hanging Hearts

I have done a love wish tree for my brothers' wedding! Yay!. My imagination came true. I love doing this! Would do more if I have the opportunity.

Lets start with the wish cards. Since the theme for the wedding card was hanging hearts, so I thought it would be best if the wish cards are heart shaped rather than normal card shape. I worked way before the wedding, prepared the love cards from scratch (I used a picture frame as a shaper and trace it on A1 sized papers - silver, red and cream colour) and attached them with strings. I did it with Amir. He was so excited helping me with them.

For the guest book, I bought 2 black books. It was easier than DIY-ing the books, I was short of time by the way. Initially I wanted to make an accordian book but I did not have time so just dealt with 2 empty black books in which I decorated them with ribbons and chip board letters. Easy peasy.

The decoration for table was easy. I didn't want it to look too busy. I found some canvas letters from Typo, spelt W-I-S-H-E-S, a wooden heart shape wall deco, a vintage suit case which I bought from Lovely Lace and bought Christmas lights (white colour) from a DIY shop. For the table cloth, I bought 2 metres of beige/cream coloured damask/Victorian print from Jakel (bidang 110"). The flowers, I used my mom's....heheheh..

The branch was the most important thing, without it, there was no wish tree or what tree. My dear hubby was the one who woke up early on a Sunday morning to chop the branch that we spotted. Er.. don't worry, it was not originally with leaves and everything. It was dying so we saved it and transformed it into something nice and useful (alasan).

I love it when guests drop by to write their wishes, and love the way they were pleased with it and taking pictures at the wish tree. I feel satisfied (chewah), coz they were all happy!

The reception dinner was held in Dewan Persada Johor (just across our hotel). There were cocktail drinks (of course soft drinks ek, bukanla margarita ke apa) just outside the hall. Lepak sampai ramai orang tetiba there was an announcement just outside the entrance. The announcement was made by a 'hulubalang' (messenger) sort of like in the olden days during Hang Tuah time. So coool!!...

And so we went in and after a while, the Bride was carried by a 'tandu' (really don't know what's its called in English)...sampai ke pelamin, followed by the groom joining his bride at the dais. Really awesome!....We were entertained by professional dancers all the way and traditional Malay songs.

The atmosphere and the feeling was all like in the olden days. The food was great too.

Finally, when the event was done, there was a joget Melayu session (something like dance - kalu ikut style omputih). Me and Amir joined the dance crowd. It was really fun!

Tuwin dah kawin (part 1): Nikah di JB

My brother dah selamat bernikah dengan wife dia last week. Our whole family entourage telah turun ke JB for the nikah ceremony at the bride's house. The whole set up and hospitality were beyond words. Nikah diorang pukul 8 malam, when we arrived, we were welcomed by professional dancers and fireworks...fuh!...Amir and Amar were in awe for the few seconds of the fireworks.

Last week we had TGI. It has been quite sometime. Actually my hubby and I tak berapa minat sangat kat TGI ni sebab mahal pastu steak dia mesti keras (based on past experiences la)....anyway, since we didn't know what to eat, we just went to TGI for lunch.

I think TGI should offer FREE kids meal with every purchase of a main course meal. I mean, isn't it logical to offer that deal? Ntahla, I just think they should, in order to be competitive.

Anyway, ada story kat TGI Pavilion ni. Seronok kitorang satu family makan-makan sampai tertinggal set sudu Amar. Sampai dah 2 hari baru ingat bahawasanya I tetinggal sudu tu. I dah sedih-sedih sebab set sudu tu dah tak jual lagi kat sini. Tapi, nak jugak tangan ni gatal pi call TGI and just nak tanya ada ke set sudu baby. Rupa-rupanya diorang simpan sudu tu....yay!!! Yippie!!...punyalah happy...tak sangka pulak diorang simpan..so bersungguh-sungguh I keluar opis masa lunch semata-mata nak amik set sudu tu...

I really appreciate TGI's hospitality in terms of this. At least for now, I am fond of TGI Pavi....hehehe

Johor Premium Outlet (JPO)

Finally an 'outlet' to release the inner desire of I-want-to-buy-but-its-very-expensive feeling. Malaysia's first outlet, Johor Premium Outlet (JPO) is to me ala-ala Cheshire Oaks in UK. It has just opened to public on 1 December 2011.

We came from JB so bukak Googlemap and carik Kulaijaya. Ikut punya ikut rupanya map kasi jalan dalam. Should have just gone and followed my dad coz diorang guna highway and sampai dulu. For further instructions on how to get there, you can see here.

When we arrived (at about 11 am), cars were starting to queue at the entrance and people just starting to swarm the shops.

Ok, maybe, maybe the timing we went there was not good; with school holidays and what not in December. There was a sea of people, mostly Singaporeans....most of the time, I 'berlaga bontot' dengan orang bila dalam kedai. The queue to enter Coach and Burberry were jampacked with people, which I wasn't too hyped with (sebab even dah marked down pun tak mampu nak beli).

So I was more into Charles and Keith Reductions and GAP. Oh wow! GAP memang sangat best, it was like; I can afford to buy them coz satu baju yg harga RM60-RM80 jadi RM30.....wah apa lagi, mak grab je apa yg lawa.!! Masa tu I saw a cute orange rain jacket which I thougt perfect for Amar, terus ambik sebab dah tinggal 2 helai. Lepas I ambik tu, ada 2 dads tengah berebut jacket yang tinggal...nasib. Ini gambar Amar modelkan jaket yang dibeli.

We did not have lunch there coz there were too many people. Padahal sebenarnya it would be very convenient makan kat situ before we headed back to KL. Sungguh ramai orang tak bleh blah. Terlalu ramai sampai kan I takut nak masuk toilet sebab mesti horror kalau dah reramai orang camni. But, the toilets are clean (sebab baru kan...or maybe sebab pagi lagi...could be worse in the evening...hahahah). Ni gambar kat cafe dia...not bad...

Somehow, kita memang suka warehouse sale/outlets ni suma kan?...masa kat UK dulu mat saleh ni tak heran la dengan sale kat outlet ni (maybe I pegi time tak sale kot)....so kita orang Melayu ni syok je shopping takde orang...

Anyway, overall, should you nak feeling shopping kat JPO, please do come during the non-peak season for full shopping satisfaction. One day I would go again and have a calm stroll looking at items on sale (yeah right)....

I have worked a job that is so stressful, I didn't see my first son for 1 week, and mind you, it was not an outstation job. I just got to see him whenever he sleeps. Every single day of that week I came back home at 4 or 4.30 am and then to office at 9 the next day. I was so stressed and I thought 'that was it, I have to resign.

However, sometimes, there is a bit of 'fun' in this industry of working in client's office. Not so much of fun, but I basically know the 'truth' or have the experience being in client's office so long that it enables me to assess whether I am fit or not in the organisation.When I say fit, I mean whether I like it or love it, whether the environment and people there are nice or I thought 'could this be my next employer?', 'office ni ada bilik menyusu ke tak?', 'surau dia best ke tak?' and a whole load of questions. However, most of the time, memang taklah kan...mesti ada je yang tak kena dengan company tu. Dari bos yang berkira, sampailah ke tandas yang euwwww. Have you ever wish that when you come for an interview, the employer allows you to tour the office and let you see whether you like their office or not?....This is exactly what I mean. Kita apply kerja but totally not knowing what's in store for us. Kita impress potential employer but very rarely employer impress kita. Yes, I know, employer tak perlu impress kita sebab kita yang nak kat dia but still, they are not the best employer anyway.

Oklah, cukup lah bebel (tetiba pissed pulak). Actually I just wanted to share some site visit pictures when I was in the 'stress' job tuh....

Estate visit….(but couldn’t find the pics, cuma ada gambar siput gonggong jer…lerrr). Awesome 1 week working with estate people (oh, masa ni tak kawin lagi so suka betul kalau dapat pegi visit sana sini). Tiap-tiap hari 1 week tu client belanja. Stayed 1 week in guest house (don't get me started on the eerie stories about the guest house). 1 week no internet. I think cukuplah 1 week no internet.

If you have been reading my blog, you will know that I don't quite like macarons (the one I had in Harrods, KLCC - you can read about it here). And you will know that I was dying to try the Delectables Treats by Su. Finally the day came, and I bought something from Delectables…yeehaw!

This is sooooooooooo nice if you compare it with the Harrods macarons. So nice. It has got a pinch taste of salt and the sweetness of chocolate and none of strawberry taste (although the colour is pink).

As a self proclaimed creative junkie, I make an effort to be creative (walaupun orang tak rasa I kreatif..ahaks..)...so, as I have planned a special project for my brothers' wedding in December, I imagined some things that I could get from Typo shop.

A bit about Typo. Typo is originally from Australia. Flashback: Working in Old Trafford Stadium

Dah takde idea nak blog, so meh kita layan flashback jap....

I used to work in Old Trafford Stadium, yes, the Manchester United stadium, but as a kiosk attendant jer. But hey, it was one of the best experience I have ever had. On matchdays, I will be at the kiosk (tapi tak pernah kat box) selling food and drinks. When there's no football match I will be working at the halls in the stadium or at City stadium (asal boleh je, nak duit la katakan..). But if there's a Derby match (Manchester United vs Manchester City), I will choose stadium yang bayar lebih and normally City stadium pays more..(kemut jugak United ni)...

Anyway, working at the halls in the stadium, as part of MU catering staff meant more money coz they pay like 4.50 pounds per hour and I normally worked 10-11 hours (bagai nak mati ok, sebab penat). The work is sometimes bad (like setting up the tables, logistics) but sometimes not tiring like overseeing the food and drinks for exhibitors...paling best sekali kalau ada job exhibition, macam career fair...I pun sibuk-sibuk kat situ (dengan uniform) tapi, kena cover-cover jugakla takut supervisor nampak, coz we were supposed to be working, not joining the crowd.

Sometimes people organise prom nite so I had to serve food (macam waiter/waitress kat Perdana Felda tu) bila bunyi lagu, gerak serentak beramai-ramai....err..gerak ke arah meja yang dijaga la...paling best, mat saleh ni suka kasi tips. Satu meja ada 10 orang, so kalau sorang kasi 1pound, mak dapat 10 pounds... woohoo!!...err..10 pounds tu banyak bukan macam RM10 kat sini yer...

There's one that I must remember, a dinner for MU staffs (not the players though), I bumped into Sir Alex Ferguson. He asked me where's the loo. I almost wanted to ask for his autograph but obviously that would be rude coz he wanted to pee. Not a good timing, plus takut supervisor nampak pulak.

I also once worked in Red Cafe and that was one of the best experiences too. [Memang takde gambar, so sad…:(]

Even though I am not a fan of United, tiba-tiba jadi peminat (tapi sekarang tak ok) sebab bangga ngan tempat kerja sendiri (poyo). I followed football development too. Bila pergi stadium lain pulak rasa tak best macam Old Trafford. Now, I don't follow football anymore like I used to. But, the memories of working there will always be in my mind.

It was a carnivore’s day out on a lazy Sunday. We hunted and craved for steak, beef ribs, t-bone and fillet, even the kids were hungry for meat…So, since we are celebrating the birthday of the youngest and most powerful person in the family, the lioness suggested that we should hunt for meat to celebrate. Not just for the little one, but the birthday was for the grandma lioness, aunty lioness and the lion himself, the father of the young one.

The restaurant, owned by the husband of one of our women ministers was opened in Citta Mall since August this year. Since Citta Mall is new, we decided to have Amar’s birthday dinner there with the anticipation that there will not be many people. Lets look at the restaurant first.

She described to me that the picture is just for illustration purpose only…..’oohh ye ke’’…I just smiled…(Dalam hati: abis tu, why do you put the picture in the menu book if you serve another thing to customer, isn’t that called deceiving?)…macam you letak emas dan permata dalam menu book, sekali dapat perak jer……oh well, since we do not want to make a scene, we just accepted all our steaks…..which all of them looked exactly the same…

Roast Chicken (quarter chicken) RM20 - As described in menu book: A spit-roasted chicken served with organic vegetables from Cameron Highlands ideal for 2 to share……betul ke ‘organic’ and from Cameron?…(I’m beginning to doubt)

So, korang bolehlah pertimbangkan whether nak makan di Meatworks ni atau tak, service memang tip top but the food, I can just give 3 out of 5 with the exorbitant price (at least to me lah…just my opinion). Seriously, I have tasted better steaks. But, don’t fret, the ambiance and your friends’ company may overcome this minor dissatisfaction.

Library Shah Alam

I got to know about this library when I visited Sasana Kijang (read about it here). There was a question from a delegate on who copycat who i.e. Shah Alam library copy Sasana or vice versa. The architect who was involved in the building of Sasana resigned from Hijjaz Kasturi and you know the answer. Even though the construction of Sasana was completed first, they did not get the CF on time so Shah Alam library was opened first to the public.

This new library, Perbadanan Perpustakaan Awam Selangor was opened to public on 22 July 2011. It has 6 floors but my current concern is more to the children's floor so that my kids can spend time here.

We went to the library on a Saturday so it was a bit chaotic with kids everywhere. If you bring kids, you are only allowed to the Ground floor. So, I didn't have the opportunity to see other floors, only the kids area. Even the kids area are equipped with Mac computers. Can you get more awesome than that?..

Oh! Pokcik Garrets Popcorn KLCC

Semalam panjang kaki lagi….kali ni ke KLCC semata-mata nak gi visit Pokcik Garret yang dah lamaaa mengidam (mengidam kerr?)…Anyway, I first knew about this popcorn thru Ida’s blog….hmmmm….as I have a mild sweet tooth syndrome, I suddenly had the urge to try it even though I know at that time, sesungguhnya Pokcik Garret belum mencecahkan kaki lagi ke bumi ‘boleh’ ini…

The first time I tasted them popcorns was from E. She was so nice. She ‘distributed’ to us, the Garrets fans (self proclaimed ya)…..I also got the tin….hehehe.

Finally the day came, it opened last Friday (11/11/11) and according to sources, the line was soooo long. That’s why I waited until this week to go and have some. When I reached Garrets shop (it’s actually the old Toy ‘r’ Us), the line was like short, so me being so excited, began snapping pictures of the popcorns - but didn’t take the picture of shop :(

It's Malaysia's first Charity Online Fashion Entrepreneurs' Weekend.

It was held at the Mid Valley Exhibition Centre (Hall 1 and 2), from 11-13 November 2011. Since Mid Valley is so near to my office, zasssss cepat jer kaki jadik panjang ke sana, together with my mates Ira and E. Dulu bila ada Lina, laju je pegi sana for Mother and Baby exhibition. Now, dah takyah nak beli barang baby so focusnya ialah membeli barang untuk diri sendiri....hehehe

Of course ye, I nak tengok barang-barang Cala Qisya sebab haritu order semua dah out of stock. One of the girls from Cala Qisya (Yana) put the Maple skirt picture on Instagram (ig) and since then I have been bugging her on ig to get one of those cute Maple skirts. Yang bagusnya, she was so friendly and the best part is, she kept the skirt for me. I mean, for me? So, bila I sampai, terus tanya pasal skirt bertuah tu. It turned out to be a purple skirt and I didn't like it as much as I like the other skirt. I mean, I like the pattern but I can match only limited tops with that colour (plus I already have purple skirt and a purple dress, so, you know, cukuplah purple). So, yeah. In the end, I bought a different one instead.

Finally before we left I took the Farahs' picture. I really salute them for having a successful online shop. I hope to have an online shop too (are you reading this Ida, E and Ira)?......heheheh...

They were there too and I just didn't want to miss the opportunity to see their collection and meet Hui Wen (the Creative Director) in person. Bought first via ShaShinki, is considered as the father of Mr. Hub's collection. Bought with the objective to store his D90, Mr. Hub did not hesitate but was motivated to find a suitable bag for his newly purchased camera. Now, this bag is still used but with additional function: to store Amar's diapers and extra clothes…hehehe…

Salary Sacrifice

So, after he joined the Mac club, he thought "must find new cool bag to put my Mac"....hence Mr. Hub bought this....I mean, what kind of name is this 'Salary Sacrifice'.....but I won't deny the fact that Crumplers are expensive. Yes. Hence, the sacrifice.

Latest addition to the family, considered the baby and most favourite, this is an advanced birthday present to my dear Mr. Hub (last year tak kasi apa2, kasi Amar jer...). Currently his favourite and kept reminding me that.

According to Mr. Hub, the most significant reason for purchasing this brand is that it has got a worldwide warranty (if you purchase it overseas) while for Malaysia, it's only 6 months warranty. The logo changes every season so its kinda like a collector's item if you are able to collect the various logos.

I'm thinking if this is the case, we might visit Vietnam one fine day just to visit the Bagvina @Crumpler heaven......*evil laugh....

BNM Museum and Art Gallery

Now open for public, the BNM's new museum is a breath taking museum with a tinge of modern classy architecture. Located in Sasana Kijang, there are 6 galleries to visit. I had the opportunity to visit the Numismatics Gallery (Numismatic is money) and the Art Gallery. The Islamic Finance Gallery is not opened yet (as at today).

Sasana Kijang is located adjacent to Memorial Tunku Abdul Rahman. It is a very new building. 'Sasana' is a Sanskrit word meaning site, building or base, while 'Kijang' has always been the bank's logo. The building design is inspired by nature, shaped like a cowrie shell (siput gerus). The architect; Hijjas Kasturi Associates were inspired by nautilus (binatang bercengkerang yang ada shell bentuk spiral) plus other elements such as water, stone and glass.

Anyway, we started our tour with the Art Gallery. They are having In Context 2007-11 Acquisitions where they showcase all their collections since year 2007 until now. The exhibition started on 14 September 2011 and will run until 14 January 2012.

Next we visited the Knowledge Management Centre (still inside Sasana Kijang). I would say its the best library so far. The interior is soooo new and modern while the ambiance is calm. The interior is awesome.

The tour guide said they are trying to move away from the conventional library where you cannot make noise. Here, they encourage discussion and group study so you are free to conduct your group study or mini tutoring or whatever. There is also 'Bilik Inspirasi'...you can do anything here, its sound proof..nak karaoke pun boleh...

The chairs are movable so if you suddenly feel you don't want to socialise or merajuk ke apa ke, you can just move the chairs around, or face the forest for inspiration...

Last week I went to meet my sister friend (she's more like a little sister to me). It has been ages since we met. She migrated to Canberra and currently lives with her mom there. She's back for holidays (but not so long) so I decided to meet her and catch up.

Susah nak catch up ok, coz dah lost contact lama giller (masa tu she was just like 4? during Commonwealth Games) And masa tu I masih muda remaja lagi...dan I suka melayan kids…kekekeke...

So, both of us were quiet at first, and then when she said she loves Japanese food and all things Japan, barulah gear bergerak dengan pantas sekali.

There were not many choices of Japanese food in KLCC. At first we went to the food court to scout for anything Japanese and nice but, there were too many people so we changed our plan and have lunch in Umai-Ya instead.

When I was in UK, I didn't eat rice for lunch but mostly pizzas or sandwiches but its ok coz I am a sandwich freak. Normally, sandwich meals there comes with a bag of crisps (similar to what Subway meal sets here) so, this Thai Sweet Chilli has always been my favourite choice. Other flavours that I can remember are roasted chicken, salt & vinegar, smoky bacon (of course la tak halal) and Worcester sauce to name a few. Ada banyak lagi flavour!

My hubby's cousin was the one who bought them for me. Dah lama tak rasa, sepeket besar dah pun I habiskan!! Thanks Kak Tiah!! Semoga berjaya dalam PhD....

I was given the opportunity to visit the museum which I never knew existed!. I was so ashamed of myself, to have never explored interesting places within reach and yet thinking of going somewhere far for an eye-opener (read: Japan, again).

Before citer pasal museum, lets see the museum restaurant where me and two other delegates had lunch while contemplating whether to go or not to go into the museum...(sambil makan, sambil pikir nak masuk ke taknak). After a few burps, we decided to enter the museum coz it would be such a waste if we did not go since we are already there. Plus the entrance fee is only RM10. By the way, the museum restaurant is a really calm and a nice place with a really, really nice deco.

The museum has 12 permanent galleries, the first being Architecture Gallery where models of masjid all over the world are showcased here...so amused with all of them. Some pictures I took while in the gallery were:

This is Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque, UAE. The maximum capacity is 41,000 people and was opened for public in 2007.

This is Taj Mahal, India. As we all know, Taj Mahal was built in memory of Mumtaz Mahal. The masjid features Indian and Persian architecture. The construction took 20,000 workers and 22 years to complete. It costed more than 32 million rupees and completed in 1648 AD.

This is Selimiya Mosque, Turkey. Regarded as the symbol of glory of Islam during the Ottaman Empire.

This is Bibi Khanum Mosque, Uzbekistan. The interior halls contain 480 stone columns and domes!

This is Masjidil Haram in Mecca, Saudi Arabia. This Holy mosque is where the Holy Ka'aba is. It can accommodate more than 1 million worshipers at one time. This is where the black stone is (Hajar-ul Aswad).

This is Wadi Hussain's Mosque in Pattani, Thailand. This masjid caught my attention coz it is made of wood. It is one of the oldest masjid in Thailand.

The Museum Shop has a wide range of souvenirs from key chains to mugs and pashminas. No cameras were allowed hence only these two pictures.....hehehe....

Bila Amir tak kasi, dia tepis-tepis dengan tangan dia....amboi garangnya anak ibu nihh...semua orang gelak tengok Amar acting garang tuh...

This is my first time having this big keria. Never heard or eaten them before. Hubby is a fan of kuih keria. Oh btw, for those who don't know what is kuih keria, its a local kuih made of sweet potatoes and sugar. My doctor brother and his fiance’ went to buy them and sempat pulak dia snap sign board kedai.

Normally, people use white sugar but I think because this particular one is from Melaka, they use gula Melaka as an ingredient and coating of the kuih. That's why its a bit unique. Rasa kuih keria ni sangat sedap especially bila makan pepanas. Will definitely eat again when in Melaka.

Adiq-qoo dah kahwin: Part 3 (The wedding)

The wedding was done in Dewan Bistari, Ayer Keroh, Melaka. My brother looks so dashing with Mahani being soooo pretty……(sorry gambar yang ni je ada, my hubby tak bertugas malam tu…)

Overall, the wedding buffet was yummy and the guest of honour for the day was Yang Di-Pertua Negeri Melaka (coz Mahani’s dad works with him).

Told ya we did something the night before kan?…it was…a-carnival-like-night-out. Tengok je lah…

Adiq-qoo dah kahwin: Part 2 (Jonkers Street)

We had the rest of the day to ourselves since adiq's nikah was held in the morning. After relaxing and sleeping, we started our 'jalan-jalan' at 6pm. We went to Jonker's Street (dulu dah pegi, you can read about it here). It's still the same, so, am just posting pictures taken from my phone, edited using the Camera+ app. Nuff said!

At night, we had dinner in Muara Sg. Duyung (an alternative to Umbai coz Umbai jauh giler dah on the way to Muar so, it was a no no but we were still craving for ikan bakar…..(tapi, tak order ikan bakar pun, order ikan 3 rasa).

Balik, semua dah kekenyangan but we did something fun that night..What was it?…Stay tuned…..

Adiq-qoo dah kahwin: Part 1 (pre-nikah and nikah)

We took leave on Friday sebab adiq bernikah on Saturday morning. We stayed in Mahkota Hotel Melaka (fka Century Mahkota Hotel Melaka). It's not a hotel per se. Its a serviced apartment. Rooms are so clean and they have ample parking space. The location is strategic coz its just behind Mahkota Parade and adjacent to it is Dataran Pahlawan Mall.

Sejak dah syok dok apartment haritu kat KB, choosing apartment against hotel is a very smart option when going out for a holiday. The main reasons are they're cheaper, we have more freedom and better bonding with family members. Lets look at the rooms.

Strawberry Peach Trifle

After a few attempts, I am still not a fan of this dessert (sebab I tak makan sangat pun). However, I truly agree that it is the easiest dessert ever! Mainly because no baking is required at all. Sesuai untuk orang yang nak keje senang macam I ni kan...hehehe

I think you know how to make trifle. Its sooo easy. What I used:

Peaches sliced (1 tin), Strawberries (ikut suka banyak mana)

Custard

Cream – dipukul

Jelly (I use Nona brand, its easy and tasty)

Strawberry swiss rolls (waduh, yang ini susah nak carik, tapi luckily I managed to order from a bakery nearby office).

Topped with some strawberries – kasi cantik merah

Then, you know the drill, just suka hati lapis-lapis kan dia and chuck it in the fridge to cool.

On the second last day of Ramadhan, we had a family iftar here. Reason being; easy, my doctor brother had to work so its nearby our house and the clinic, plus we did not want to have buffet anymore (wah banyak pulak sebabnya).

There was only 2 families at at the restaurant so we had our food just in time (sesuai dengan tagline diorang 'Kelainan Jadi Sebutan', ini memang satu kelainan di mana hanya ada 2 keluarga je yang makan kat tempat ni)...hehehehe

Not-so disastrous online shopping

Disclaimer: What you are about to read is purely my own fault and nothing to do with the online sellers, they're all just fine. It's just me being kiasu (scared of losing) and excited to purchase without further thought process. So, please, do continue with your online shopping ya.

How much faith do you put in online shopping? Are you at all times, satisfied 100% with your online purchases? As for me, I was 100% satisfied when I bought nursing clothes using hopshopgo (see my entry about it here). But, somehow, like shawl or tudungs, I would prefer if I could touch and see them in front of my eyes. Even though this is my stand when purchasing scarves, being a human being with a sense of kiasu, especially when almost everything you see online on a well-known online shop is 'sold out' or 'not in stock', I hurriedly want to purchase without further thinking of the specifications of the desired item. Like I just want it you know.

First I bought this:

It looked like brown in website but it turned out to be lime green!..(my computer screen brightness is at the most minimum because I'm using the ol skool monitor, so maybe that was why I saw it to be brown)...oh well..

Then I bought this:

Polka dot mushroomness bila pakai

Yes, it is pretty and if you go to the website, the items are selling out fast. I didn't want to lose, plus I kinda like the scarf too. What I didn't know was it is so huge that I can make a body wrap or like a skirt when I'm bored...hahahahah...

And then this one:

Circle scarves

I thought its like a normal scarf but apparently the ends are sewn together (hence the name, circle scarf…duhh)...I like it a lot but I have to learn how to wear it...I bought 2 of them (I know, I'm so vain)..nah sekarang pikirla sendiri camne nak pakai...

I also bought a dress from a website so popular that almost everything nice is 'out of stock'. I was so tempted because the dresses are not as expensive as the ones in GAP or Uniqlo. I remember once I wanted to surf the website (during office hours), masa tengok dress tu ada and so I waited until my boss went home. The moment I clicked 'refresh' after my boss left, the dress became 'out of stock' (sengal tul).....tapi, akhirnya dah beli dress tu...puas hati la jugak...

So, like I said, its not so disastrous, still can be worn. At least, I can say that I have bought them, dah ada experience.

Noodle Station in Kota Bharu

We had dinner in Noodle Station because it was the ONLY decent restaurant opened for business on the second day of Aidilfitri. We wanted to celebrate my dad's birthday. We didn't want to go to hotels as the food might not be tasty (because most people were still in holiday mood) <---takde kaitan.

Anyway, it was quite ok though, not expensive but beware that there's no other meals other than noodle, so if you are not a fan, then please proceed to another restaurant.

If you want to know, this is a historic place as it is the first Noodle Station in Malaysia opened in 2005 (ok, you don't want to know).

My second nite out with hubby after bersalinkan Amar (first was buka puasa di Serai, Empire Shopping Gallery).

The hurdle when going for a night out is Amir crying and begging us not to go out or he would suggest to bring him along. True enough, we had to make up stories about how Yuna cannot meet us at home so we had to go out and meet her instead together with all other audiences at the DFP.<----- (bermacam cadangan dia bagi, suh call Yuna, siap suh bagi address, jumpa lain kali..waduhh).

Anyway, after the drama we rushed to KLCC and we were late. We missed the first song Someone Out Of Town. (Ergh, terpaksa enjoy kat luar je. Seems that a lot of people were late too <------ ok, ayat ni tak justify apa2.

After the song, we rushed in. Our seat is middle seat, but because we were late, we had to sit and the end but still it was near to the stage, memang clear. Yuna was wearing a royal blue dress with a bling bling belt and a turban, with high heels. She looks so lanky and pretty!!! She said she wore the dress because the tickets sold out (macam, dia terpaksa pakai ke?). Tapi cantik apa....

So, in total, Yuna sang 16 songs for an hour and half. They were (in order):

Overall, it was a really great performance!!! Cam tak puas. She kept on kidding saying "this is my last song" and when the last song came, the audiences were like 'awwww we want more'...but the cheering were not that upbeat (coz we understand that you were not feeling well Yuna, nevertheless it was exceptionally an amazing show!!!)

I was among the early birds who queued for her signature and hopefully a picture with her but was quite disappointed that we can only get her signature and not pictures (pictures can only be taken after the signing session). Masa dia tgh sign tu borak-borak cakap pasal the first time I met her kat Threadszoo Bazaar at Rasta TTDI, masa tu dia baru je menang AJL (click here to read about it). Then she said "ohh, thats like 2 years ago.." <----(yeah, I nak jumpa you selalu...kikiki)

So, since we all nak balik dah, tak sanggup tunggu lama lagi (nak tengok kiddos), we just hung around like 15 minutes. Hubby took picture with AG Coco (Yuna's bestfriend who also performed) while I took a picture with Wawa (Yuna's manager) (so sad there's no picture with Yuna herself).

Aidilfitri 2011: Part 3 (homebound)

It was 4 Syawal and we planned to go back to KL. But before that, we made a first stop in Pengkalan Chepa for breakfast at my aunty's house and then spent the next half an hour camwhoring at the paddy fields (jakun gile).

We made so many pit stops. At first, my dad planned to have our lunch in Beserah but due to time constraint and sentimental reasons, we had our 'lunch' at 5 pm in Pantai Primula Beach Resort. Yes, when I was a lot younger, this hotel is 'the' hotel to singgah whenever we went back to Kelantan. It used to have a water fountain at the main entrance but not anymore. See what I had (memang sedappp).

Our next pit stop was Makcik Gemuk 69. This is the place where my mom gets her keropok supply. The business is now taken over by Makcik's daughter but the stall didn't look improved. Not many items were for sale. Nevertheless, we stopped there for again, sentimental values.

Terengganu was awesome, weather was nice and the view was fascinating. We made a pit stop just to enjoy the beach and again, camwhoring (err, pictures, not approved to be published here, only Amir’s picture is ok).

Kerteh was really full of lights (from the oil/petrol plant), wish we had the opportunity to make a pit stop in TMC/Mesra Mall but, it was already late and the mall was closed for public.

Of course, there were toilet stops and solat stops but there was one toilet stop which to me was the most disgusting toilet ever! I can’t remember which petrol station and where but to tell you the truth, a whole packet of wipes and hand cream just could not remove the ‘hancing’ smell on my hands which I gotten from touching the rubber pipe in the toilet!! Euwwwwww!!!

After a 15+ hours of journey, we reached home sweet home and Syukur Alhamdulillah our house is in good condition and we have safely arrived (lalu Karak pulak tu, nasib I belum tengok citer tu).

Aidilfitri 2011: Part 2 (Pasar Besar Siti Khadijah)

If you go Kelantan, this a pit stop that you must not miss. To tell you the truth, Kelantan memang tak berubah sejak I kecik dulu. Same as this market. But, this time I looked forward to go to this famous market. Believe me, I dreaded to come here when I was young (pada I, aktiviti di pasar ni amat memboringkan). Tapi sekarang sebab dah berzaman tak balik, nah amik ko...hubby, dad, my brothers and Amir layankan aje...kitorang pegi pasar ni macam pelancong....siap amik gambar bagai...untuk blog lah katakan...so, layankan aje the pics....

After the market we went to Bazar Buloh Kubu (just a walking distance). Here, there are a variety of Batik caftans to choose from as a souvenir or just simply for our own wear. I didn't take pictures here coz there's nothing much.

Next, we walked to the Kota Bharu Trade Centre (KTC) just because I wanted to go to eightdesignsboutique. Unfortunately, it was closed, so my money is saved there.

All in all, it was tiring as the rest of the day was spent raya-ing.

Aidilfitri 2011: Part 1 (family and food)

It has been ages since I came back to Newcastle, my birth place...err (note: Kota Bharu ye, sendiri jangan perasan). So this year, the whole family went to Kelantan for Aidilfitri (plus the first time for hubby and kids).

It was really fun coz we treated it like a vacation. Plus semua adik-beradik I ada. We stayed in an apartment. So basically we had cheap accomodation, ample space and freedom like in our own house (boleh masak, basuh baju dan penuhkan fridge). The best part was, our apartment became the main spot for everyone in the family to reunite pagi 1 Syawal haritu. Everyone brought food, Kelantan specialities obviously, such as kuzi ayam, ketupat palas, jala emas, tahi itik, nasi kerabu and nasi dagang. And someone kena cium (read on).

First, lets talk about the apartment. It is really big, with 4 rooms but not so clean (I mean, ideally you need to bring a vacuum and clean the apartment yourself but obviously we did not bring a vacuum the whole 10+ hours journey). Anyway, it is what it is (gambar apartment pun takde, alah, biasa-biasa jer…)

The apartment is nearby Pelangi Mall and Grand Riverview Hotel, easily accessible as it is in town and most importantly there is a Chinese owned sundry shop nearby and the owner spoke in Kelantanese dialect all the time (senang ada kedai nih, turun bawah je bila nk beli barang dapur, trust me, you will NEED barang dapur).

Then, the food. Pagi-pagi memang banyak nyam nyam especially when it has been ages that I had Kelantan food. Hari-hari yang seterusnya nemang agenda makan. I didn't weigh myself during Ramadhan so if I put on weight in this 4 days, I wouldn't know...hehehehheheh…

Tastylicious Raya Cookies

This year Raya I found another yummy cookies. Its chocolate cups cookies!! In addition to the peanut butter tulip which I am obsessed with last year (read about it here), this would be my additional obsession!!

At first I bought 4 bottles, overnight my family and I finished 1 and then it strucked me to buy a few more, you know, as gifts for my mother in law and also to my biras sister and also more for us to munch during Raya. In total, I bought 12 bottles!!! That's crazy man.....tapi memang sedap!!!...I pun dah buat baik dengan kakak tu and keep her number manalah tau nak tempah for special occasion ke or Raya haji ke....Mmmmm yummeh!

Flashback: Shopping in Next @Trafford Centre

Have you ever woken up at 3 am just to go for shopping? Well, I did it once. It was NEXT sale in Trafford Centre, Manchester. Crazy huh? Yeah, but when we reached there, there was already a long queue. (Crazy betul mat saleh ni tak tido ke?)... Anyway, my objective was to buy some decent working clothes (since I was planning to work when I come back to Malaysia) but maternity clothes was not at all in my list (stupid kan?)...

I mean, why on earth I did not buy maternity clothes? I know I will be needing it some time...huh.....anyway, it was a new shopping experience for me. When the door opened at 4 am, these mat salehs style of shopping is grab whatever you see and then deal with it later.

What I mean by deal with it later is in the UK you can return the goods (not necessarily with tag, just a receipt will suffice) and then you can get your money back. From what I heard, many Malaysians sort of like buy (expensive dress/suit or some buy crockery set) and then returns them to get their money back. Tapi I rasa tak elok la buat camni kan, macam 'habis madu, sepah dibuang' pulak. Me being a naive Malaysian shopper, only took those clothes that fitted me and those that I confirmed I will buy. Hati pun senang takyah nak deal ngan kedai tu banyak-banyak kali kan...

Eh banyak jugak kitorang beli...

Lepas shopping, balik tido kroh kroh kroh...hahaahha...masa tu takde kelas, so tido lah, lagipun winter...badan sejuk keras so otak pun keras...hahahha....

Flashback: Fasting during winter

Two things I did not have during my study time in UK was a digital camera, and a blog. So I decided that since now I have a blog, I can revisit old memories by posting entries on what happened and what I did (but some maybe takde gambar..so sad). Well, at least I can record them somewhere since my scrapbook album project dah terbengkalai eversince my first son was born...hahhahaha...

So, my inaugural entry would be 'Fasting during winter' bersesuaian dengan bulan Ramadhan yang mulia ini....heheheh.

Fasting during winter is the best because you would only fast like a few hours, (because daytime is shorter). Last time when I was there, Ramadhan was in November and at the same time it was winter. My friends and I woke up for sahur like normal time here in Malaysia but we open fast at around 4 to 430 pm. So fun because if there were no classes, we would be sleeping till 3 pm and then berbuka at 4 pm..........kira puasa sejam je….hahahaahah (teruk betul). But, if we had to attend class, we just had a few dates and water, and went back home for food. We don't usually spend so much money on food. Just sometimes on occasion we will go Nandos (yes, its Halal there), or Yo Sushi but, most of the time we would just eat at home. Eating at home was so cheap, it came up to just a pound per day (murah kan?)

Normally, kitorang berbuka tak fancy sangat, just masak simple2 like sambal sardin or paling malas just masak chicken tikka masala (kat UK ada yang dalam botol tu)...so just letak ayam..senang gile...itupun dah sedap dah masa tu.

Terawih after iftar is another highlight of fasting. I used to go to the masjid (not nearby my house anyway) somewhere... (kenapalah tak ingat) but it was a Pakistani area (seronok bertarawih di sana)...siap ada makan-makan lagi lepas solat witir. The thing is I tak iftar di masjid sebab it was always bad timing (classes, tido..hahaha)....so, fasting during winter was fun...lucky for me, it was not summer.....

Everywhere in the news and youtube, we watched how Asyraf Haziq, a Malaysian student who was mugged and beaten by youths while on his way to a friend's for iftar. His jaw broke and had to be hospitalised.

This incident is not new to the UK, even when I was there, ramai Chavs [is a stereotype of certain people in the United Kingdom. Chavs are said to be aggressive teenagers, of working class background, who repeatedly engage in anti-social behaviour such as street drinking, drug abuse and rowdiness, or other forms of juvenile delinquency) - source: wikipedia].

Kalau kat Ireland, ramai anak DOLE (anak Dol) because they live on food stamps and social contribution money that residents in Ireland pay. They will keep on getting money. Diorang memang akan dapat duit dari kerajaan sebab kalau kerajaan tu nak kekal memerintah, kebajikan diorang ni takkan diabaikan.

Chavs ni selalu ada je lalu lalang depan rumah, buat bising pukul 3 -4 pagi. Diorang suka pakai baju tracksuit and hoodie. Kalau Chav perempuan suka gila pakai subang besar macam gelang boleh muat tangan (ala-ala Lily Allen).

One morning (around 3 am, my housemate saw in front of her own eyes, how these chavs pukul semua side mirrors kereta depan rumah kitorang termasuklah kereta dia. She could not do anything. Terdiam terpaku je. Nak keluar tengok pun gelap. Cuma bercahayakan lampu jalan and takut pulak kalau-kalau diorang tiba-tiba patah balik, kena belasah nanti. I was studying in my room masa kejadian tu berlaku and tiba-tiba dia lari-lari datang ke bilik I cerita pasal kejadian tu. Bila kitorang gi tengok dari bilik dia, tiba-tiba ada la sorang tu pandang atas ke arah kitorang. OMG OMG takut gile. Tapi nasib baik dia tak buat apa-apa, lagipun rumah dah kunci suma.

Esok pagi, semua gi tengok keta masing-masing. Keta jiran sebelah yang cantik tu pun kena.

Normally bila balik keje, kena berhati-hati sangat supaya tak bertentang mata dengan mat saleh- mat saleh yang dahla mabuk, berbau busuk... takut sangat kalau-kalau kena mug ke, kena belasah ke, lagi-lagi kalau diorang kalah bola....Alhamdulillah tak pernah kena apa-apa walaupun ada kalanya memang high risk (jalan sorang, balik keje malam).

Reduced price @Cold Storage

Shopping in Cold Storage could be a pain because the prices are more expensive plus it caters for foreigners (expatriates) because they have a wide variety of overseas food for sale. In Cold Storage, I love to shop for Pakcik Rafferty's (click here about my post on Rafferty's Garden), instant Belgian waffles and instant pizza dough (kat Giant takde pakcik Rafferty tapi baru semalam tengok Giant dah jual).

Anyway, recently Cold Storage has a section for 'reduced price' items. I love this section because the prices are stripped off up to 80% so basically I can get expensive veggies, fruits, canned food or even precooked food at a cheap price. Since my son loves to eat salad and normally a pack of salad is RM8 - RM11 per pack, RM2.99 per pack is just perfect! My friend Littleshakes loves the nasi ayam. The original price was RM6.49 then it was marked down to RM1.99. Cheap huh?! Today, I grabbed more veggies (broccoli, baby kailan and spinach) and 2 mangoes at only RM6.46 on what could have costed me RM17.64!!!

Mangoes look bad but they tasted nice!

Most important thing is, since the food and veggies are very near to the due date, you would have to be extra careful like for example the salad, you would have to wash thoroughly leaf by leaf even though they're prewashed, precut, preanything. This is because, they could still contain bacterias unless they're presterilised (which they are not la kan...).

Finally feeling like I'm in overseas (I went crazy when Asda or Aldi reduced their prices, everyday man...)

Oh by the way, the Accesorize shop in KLCC have been having the same bag on sale for RM180 ever since the shop opened...depa ni tak paham konsep end of season sale ka?

When was the last time you clean your mattress? Anyway, how do you clean it? Do you just pat the matress outside your home with a broom stick? And after all that hard work, the dust comes back in your house.

And do you know that 1 dot of pen on a paper is equivalent to 2,000 dust mites? Can you imagine one whole bed? And these dust mites feed on our dead skin and may extend to our skin during their peak feeding hours at 3 am to 6 am. That's the time when we are in our deep sleep. *Ok dah, sekarang meh dengar my personal experience

My mom just bought Ritello (like 2 weeks ago) and we have been using it eversince. Vacuuming our mattresses, carpets, floors, air-con filters, and for my case, Amir's toys. Yes, his toys berhabuk yang tak hengat punya (dah tak minat ngan mainan-mainan dia...sibuk ngan gadget2 terkini abahnya). Lepas vacuum terus sakit pinggang sebab membersihkan bilik (hello bilik jer...) dengan penuh dedikasi seumpama seorang patriot (hahahah)...

Oh yeah, another thing, I hate the air that comes out from a vacuum cleaner, but with Ritello, clean air comes out of the system, you can put essential oils to purify the air in your room. So lepas vacuum (dengan penuh dedikasi tadi) I pasang pewangi bilik tuh...huuuuuhhhh.....rasa nyaman gitu....

Wondermilk Cuppacakes Show at Chitta Mall

Oh I love bazaars and flea market!

So when I saw the ad below in OldBlossomBox, I immediately informed hubs to join. The opening of +Wondermilk’s new outlet is in Citta Mall (near Subang airport). Seriously, I have never had +Wondermilk cupcakes before, but I think (I might be wrong), +Wondermilk is the first cupcake shop in Malaysia.....only after that a lot of other cupcakes shop mushroomed.

The special thing about the opening of this particular outlet is that they had a lot of activities and line-ups for customers such as free cupcakes (yes! free), face painting competitions and my favourite; flea market!

We arrived there at 6 pm and I have to admit that I was quite blur on what should be done to get the free cupcakes (excited pulak). I asked around and gathered that I should queue to get the FREE cupcakes. And so I queued to register and got meself a cute box of free cuppacakes!!

While waiting, I just simply snapped a few pictures. I love the deco of the shop! (in fact, memang berangan nak bukak cafe, tapi belum cukup modal...nun jauh lagi nak sampai modal).

After I got my cupcakes, we went to the back to see the flea market. My aim is to get something from Sputniksweetheart and after approval from my banker (my hubs, obviously) he belanja-ed me a skirt and a headscarf. Weeeeeeeeeeeeee~~~~~~.

After browsing around we ordered +Wondermilk’s bestseller drink; Passion Fruit Ice Soda and an Ice chocolate. With that purchase I was entitled for a lucky draw and I got meself a cute back-to-school note book but with an flowery pattern on it.

My lucky draw prize: So nice! Wish I got a bigger prize though…

One thing, Amir was not sporting enough to get his face painted, he also didn’t join me to queue. I guess he’s not in the mood coz he kept bugging me to go back home. Amar was also not cheery as he would be (ni mesti pakat 2 beradik nih) but, nevertheless they did not scream or yell in the crowd. They were well behaved. I’m blessed to have them.

My family and I went to Delicious at Marc Residence for a birthday party. It was my friend; Shoby's daughter (her daughter's name is Irasshini) 1st birthday party. For Indians, it is customary to have a big event like this when a child (girl) reaches 1 year old and reaches puberty. I'm not sure if its the same for boys though.

Anyway, I would say it is a well-planned birthday party. My friend even made the invitations herself. So creative. Even I yang self-proclaimed creative nih tak sampai tahap tu boleh buat kad. Malas pun iye jugak.

Overall, the party was great, with delicious food indeed!....

Blur dan angan angan

I don't know why, sometimes I get blur, blur yang kronik I would say. Like for example the other day when I finished praying, I sempat borak dengan my colleague; StillIda, dalam surau tuh and then left the surau. Except that, when I left the surau, I switched the lights off while she was still inside praying...yes, praying in the darkkk!! Kesian dia, dia kata macam sembahyang dalam alam barzakh sebab gelap gila! Nasib baik dah rakaat ke-4, but still, what was that??

Contoh kedua, I dah janji nak balik ngan hubby, so he usually arrives early and then he will wait for me. Normally, he would wait outside but there's one day, he waited inside. He said he saw somebody like his wife already pressing the elevator button and waiting in front of the elevator. Yes, it was me lingo-ing my bag to look for car keys (or was it my pass card? - whatever) then while waiting the elevator to come up from LG1 to 1, I toleh ke arah luar then I saw my hubby tengah tengok I. OMG I totally forgot about him!!!...Kan dah janji nak balik tadi, really don't know why I macam robot terus je tekan button lift. Can you imagine kalau I balik nonong jer tinggalkan dia?...We laughed about it. But seriously, ada penyakit ke haku ni?

I doa banyak-banyak supaya ke-blur-an ini tak terjadi lagi, especially when I'm with my kids.

The only reason that I think of is that I was thinking a lot about my job. Lately, I am not motivated to work, like I can't see the point of working (except for the money lah). I'd rather be with my kids. I want to be responsible fully for taking care of my kids. Kalau boleh work from home lagi best, or business online ker....tapi I tengok macam business online, kena femes dulu, byk followers pastu jual apa pun macam hot cakes. Bila lah I akan sampai tahap tu kan?...make money from blogging, 4-5 figures from blogging, or at least dapat cash out every month.

But.....wake up!! Realitinya kena kerja 830-545 (don't even ask me why 545) macam slave (takdela slave sangat pun sebenarnya, bila dah tak suka tu, kutuk habis la kan). Pastu bila appraisal, hanya nampak keburukan, sepanjang tahun buat keje elok2, pastu buat slack sekali, abis ruined appraisal nanti. Huh!

Kesimpulannya, terpaksalah kerja and blog je bila-bila...kalau ada rezeki murah income dari blog, even if 10 tahun lagi..tetap ku terima jua....

P/S: Mak berangan dok obersee + jaga anak-anak + jalan-jalan....maka, hilang poblem-poblem jap....kikikikiki..

Ok, I admit la I am a lazy mom. I nak semua senang jer, without any effort. Teruk kan?..Anyway, memula haritu I was imagining myself using this superb Phillips Avent Blender and Steamer macam dalam youtube nih (klik sini)

Yes, lepas tu imagine la berapa RM yang akan keluar kalau beli benda tu. Thinking that I could just boil and mash then feed Amar myself, I macam..hmmm takyah beli kot...lagipun baby kan cepat besar, nanti tak guna pulak benda tuh...

Amar dah nak masuk 9 months bulan ni tapi I masih belum buat apa2 lagi...I made porridge for him like 2 months ago but he refused it. Then I became demotivated. So, makanan dia cuma biskut Farley or Milna tuh. And makan time pagi jer. Bila petang takde makan.

But, since I found Ellaskitchen and Rafferty's Garden, senang hidup haku. And Amar pun suka. It's easy, can be consumed hot or cold. I pernah rasa, sedap la jugak, tak manis sangat so its not bad. Mula-mula beli satu jer, takut Amar tak suka, tapi lepas tu I borong semua dalam product range dia. Lagi best, takyah mangkuk bagai, just squirt letak dalam sudu then suap. Kalau dalam keta, squirt dalam mulut dia…hehe. Epic easy.

Borong kecil-kecilan

I am not sure if there's any side effects by consuming this everyday. The label says there's no additives or preservatives. Should be ok kot. Once, I break the norm by giving him KFC's mash potato. But, he doesn't like it. Buat muka nak muntah pulak.
Bubur pun akan bagi jugak, mesti la kan sebab kita orang Asia, mesti makan nasik. Itu dalam planning (hehe). Cik Dah I kasi dia makan roti (wah advance)...celup-celup dalam susu. Amar suka. Ok, takpe, so I just stick to Pakcik Rafferty on weekends then. Takmo tiap-tiap hari.

P/S: I remember my mom said masa I kecik dulu I hantu Gerber. So I turned out well. Kesimpulannya makan ni should be ok…kekekekekeke

As I grow maturely, I tend to be like my mom. How and why? I do not know as it just happens and still happening.

For example, when I was young, I loathed to follow my mom to Gulatis, or Maya's or any of the fabric shops along Jalan TAR. The reason being was I don't like fabric, I felt that it's a waste of time and I will just wear anything that my mom bought for me.

But now, well, eversince I got married, I just loveeee to go to Jakel. The first time I went was with my husband. He also bought me a scarf in Ariani (tudung bawal ok, masa tu, Ariani belum jual brand dia lagi, sekarang ni, orang kata kalau masuk Ariani je mesti pekerja dia tanya kenapa tak pakai Ariani?...hmm..suka hati I lah kan?...anyway,....). Besides Jakel, I also love to see fabrics online especially in Etsy or May May Shop. And my dream is to go Yuwazawa in Japan (fabric heaven)...

Second instance that I'm like my mom is all about dinnerware. When I was small and then a teenager, I didn't really care about the Queen Anne, Pyrex, Corningware or Noritake. I didn't care if my mom takes out the special dinnerware for special occasion (selalunya hari raya la) until when I was about to come back for good from overseas, I went to Stoke on Trent - a place where they produce Royal Albert/ Royal Doulton chinas. During that time I was still not so interested in those plates and cups and bowls. I tagged along my friends and bought seconds (ada scratch kat belakang) of Royal Albert's Blue Flower Sprigs (sekarang dah takde kot) for just 20 pounds! (murah giler). Oh ya! I also went to Sagamihara in Japan (like gazillion years ago) with my mom but still did not go crazy as I would have now (hamaigad why?)

But now, I go crazy when I see Pyrex, especially those vintage ones (selalu cuci mata kat The Pyrex Collective). My MIL has a few vintage Pyrex which I really want!!..hehe. And you know, they're expensive in eBay.

Next instance I'm like my mom is that we both have heavy handbags. I didn't really understand why my mom had to bring such heavy handbag (like 5 kg) until I have a baby. Yes, I stuff baby clothes, diaper, bottle, water, toiletries - in my handbag. I do have a big handbag so I guess that's why I can't stop stuffing baby things in my bag.

I'm like my mom when in the kitchen. When it's time to eat, we should all be in our seats kan? Baca doa makan sama-sama kan?..nottt, my mom loves to do other things while everyone is at their seats like emptying the dish rack or, wiping the ice-cube dispenser or she would just wash those few dishes in the sink. Now she has a gang, I would go put dirty clothes in the washing machine, or suddenly feed my baby or wash those few dishes in the sink....just like my mom, while everyone nak start makan....

And last but least, sambal belacan with durian. Yes, this is not tempoyak but real sweet durian...(OMG sangat heaven...~~~). Why? why I did not like it when I was younger or at least few years back?...I jeered and avoided it when my mom and dad had it. Why didn't it occur to me to at least have a taste of it?..Why ? Why? Nowwww, OMG OMG...nasi boleh tambah 2-3 kali ok sebab sambal durian yang sedap ini. In fact, terliur sangat when I'm writing about this now.... I rasa sapa tak makan ni memang rugi tahap dewa.

So there you have it those instances when I'm like my mom. I think ada lagi cuma maybe antara sedar dan tak sedar je kot...mommy, I love you....

Kids Monster Carnival in Bangsar Shopping Centre

On Sunday 12 June, we went to Bangsar Shopping Centre to join a kids carnival themed Monsters & Creatures Fun Nival 2011. I got to know this from Littleshakes. Since we had nothing major planned on that weekend, we decided why not we go coz I'm actually all about exposing my son to explore new things and adventure (chewah...). And so we went there at about 10 plus - pagi (told you before about how my hubs like to go out in the mornings kan?)....memang we were early so we got the chance to play anything we wanted, but of course, we need to buy the tokens first.

There were about 25 booths (some are out of order, tak paham why it was still there)..anyway, I paid RM20 for 25 tokens and each booth required 3-5 tokens. Amir won 2 board of stickers. I think it was ok since he is still young and never had this experience. Some pictures….

At night, when we were about to go to sleep I asked whether he enjoyed his day at the carnival. He said he's not happy coz he didn't win big prizes. I was touched and I said that he would have another opportunity when the time comes and that he had tried his best. He just needs more practice (tapi, seriously tak sangka pulak dia rasa camtu, ingat dia happy je dapat main2 kat situ).

I hope there's more carnival to come. (Tiba-tiba teringat kalaula sini ada circus and carnival, tentu seronok kan?...kasi budak2 tengok binatang2 buat stunt....)

I was not a science student when I was in school, but hubby was. So sometimes when he explaines to me some scientific rule I get confused coz I don't understand....but wait, I studied Biology when I took my IB (tapi takde gunanya skang ni pun)...

Anyway, what intro was that? Sebenarnya nak cakap yang we went to Petrosains last Sunday as part of our not-the-mall-again outing (but, petrosains dalam KLCC mall, takpelah, ni exception). Amir, my first son, loves Petrosains soooo much! He asked us if we would go again immediately after we finished the 'Dark Ride'.....Anyway, the ticket price was RM10.20 (coz hubby got Petronas Mesra card, I lost mine, btw..) and FREE for kids below 5.

First you will enter into a 'Dark Ride' (cheh macam scary je bunyik dia...tapi takla, tak scary langsung)..... just introductory information on how the world evolves and that the OIL is a precious resource and how Petronas is the only company who is managing it (...)

Then, we entered into a whole lot of areas (boleh Google jer or click on this link).

But, to me, the best was the Sparkz and Space area. Sparkz sebab baby Amar can finally come out of his stroller and let loose (tapi, cushion2 nampak lama and maybe tak berapa hygenic- maybe need to change cushion cover?). Amir pulak teruja sebab dia dapat naik helicopter dan lalu hujan batu.

One thing, for the kids it was an enjoyable experience and for us, the adults, its like a refresher on all the science rules that we have learnt. (As for me yang tak amik science nih, kena baca satu-satu and explain kat Amir).

All in all, it was fun and educational for all of us, balik tu kitorang gi makan kat Chillis and jalan-jalan kat Toys R us (so much for not-the-mall-again outing)...heheh...

First concert and after

What was the first concert that you have been to? Be it local or overseas? As for me, the first concert would be Feminin mini concert in Kompleks PKNS Shah Alam.....like gazillion years ago...(haha teruja giler k gi tengok Feminin...suka sangat ngan As time tu sbb dia mcm comel). I can't fully remember the exact concert but all I got to learn at that time was As was not as tall as I thought (dia macam kicik comey jer, macam besar I je kot).

Then when I was dating, I went to Westlife concert in Sunway Amphitheatre. At that time, I was not actually focused on the concert but just the special time spent with my boyfriend (note: my bf at that time is my hubby now..hehe)...(so, memang tau Westlife ada sana lambai2, jerit2, nyanyi2 tapi dari jauh jer) sebab bf dekat..hahaha

Next, I went to watch Kavana with my cousin in Life Centre KL (remember the song MFEO?).....ok, maybe you don't remember (artis UK ni mcm tenggelam habis dah skang ni)...All I can remember was we were quite near to Kavana but still seated (dok depan- actually my cousin yang suka gile kt dia I just ikut jer...hehe)

So as I grow older, from loving Take That to NKOTB then KRU then artists like Nice Stupid Playground, The Cranberries, Micheal Learns To Rock then The Coors, which all of them I did not go for any concert.

I finally get to see a concert after all that; by Avril Lavigne. It was in Manchester Arena, for £40. There were too many people (tau la mat salleh ni kan besar2, memang menghalang pandangan betul tau). Dahla tu, amik gambar pun nampak kepala mat saleh and low quality sbb fon zaman purba. The only tangible item yang dapat dari sana is a shirt which I loveeee so much! But all in all, Avril rocked and still rocks!!!

I know I really want to see Yuna live on stage, but never had a chance.....or perhaps watch FT ker.....(ntah bila la kan). So, as conclusion that was all the concerts that I have attended throughout my years, eventhough not hype concerts but at least ada la tengok jugak...how about you? Pernah tengok concert apa? I wanna know...

I like the taste because, although I have a sweet tooth, I don't fancy them being extremely sweet, so Bisou cupcakes are perfect for me! My favourites are Blue B and Chocolate Dementia.

Last but not least, I like the non-cupcake food too!. The other day I tried Tuna Panini....Its big portion and yummy too...(sebab lapar kan?...)

Awesomeness!!!

Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious!! haa tu dia... Memang a day to remember.

I got to know about this from Hana Tajima's website. So, I thought why not I come since its free and I get to see the people who revolutionised the wearing of hijab in Malaysia.

So we arrived there at 12. Yes, me and my camerakid cum assistant Amir. We then head straight to Madam Kwan area coz we need to get to UG floor. Then we registered at the security to gain access to the SoHo floors. The event was at the 10th floor.

There were not many people coz they've only started (it was from 12pm to 7 pm). When we entered, I straight away saw Hana Tajima, Ami Schaheera and Mas (the organiser). (Terus gi amik gambar ngan Hana....excited gila ok, over betul). Luckily I have my camerakid (n nasib baik gambar polaroid budak kecik tu amik suma jadik).

Ni booth Hana Tajima. She is sooo cute and really a softspoken person. Amir helped to take our pictures but he goofed around (sampai Hana tergelak-gelak tengok gelagat dia).

This is Ami Schaheera's booth. Oh I love her scarves collection. Baju dia jual pun vintage and funky.

I bought 2 scarves from Ami's booth (1 silk kaler royal blue RM50 -homaigod cantiknya!!! Pastu lagi satu mixed hijau ngan kelabu RM5 je yg ni - pun cantik giler!!) under her brand Sputniksweetheart. The scarves I bought are awesome!!!

Then jalan-jalan up to the first floor and guess what? I jumpa Maria Elena. She was also looking around but she looks really pretty. Here's she with Amir (we asked Amir to make goofy face tapi dia nk serious jugak).

Haih ada satu citer nih...I think I'm gelabah kot, yelah, face to face ngan Maria pastu tup tup bila dia nk snap a pic of me and Amir, polaroid film tu habis pulak. Pastu I menggelabah sampai Maria yg tolong ajar bukak kan bungkus film tuh (what?). Thnx ye dik.

I also took pictures with Mas Angelina (tapi baru perasan takde dalam phone pulak eh...) and met a new awesome friend who share the same interest as me (Aimi, I hope you like the mini polaroid). But, I didn't have the chance to meet Azzamoro (coz I went early so tak sempat jumpa dia).

I will definitely remember this day coz this is the day that I met with celebrity bloggers, for the first time in my life, since I started blogging nearly 2 years now.

My Monday

Yes, Monday. Hari Isnin. The first day of the week. Why do I 'love' Monday so much? Because, this is the spoiler day when we are actually happy enjoying our weekends. This is the day when my body is actually adjusting back to the wake-up time of yes, late. Monday is the starting day for no-nap or power naps during daytime :( . And, most importantly, Monday is one of the working days.....ergghhh..

Do you know that according to the British Medical Journal, there is a reported 20% increase in heart attacks on Mondays as opposed to the other days of the week. [source: http://purpleslinky.com/trivia/monday-facts-and-trivia/] (kenapa agaknya ek?)

In UK, sometimes suddenly they will have Mondays as Bank Holiday. I'm not quite sure what was the reasons but definitely were a fantastic day off for me, from lectures or tutorials....Hehe...(dulu I dok ingat sebab diorang takde banyak holidays macam kita kat Malaysia ni, so tiba-tiba je ada cuti pulak hari Isnin).

But today is a different Monday. I will get the stuffs I kirim from LittleShakes. She just came back from the states. Apa barangnya? Tentulah my Spanx......woot woot! ...... and also a pair of Vans shoes for Amir (kasut raya tahun ni).

So hopefully today is a good Monday for me...(I hope)

Yep, Kalkitos. I remember when I was young, I love to play this thing using the ball point pen (tenyeh sana, tenyeh sini). Then, suddenly, Kalkitos just went to dunno where. Just recently, Kalkitos is back but was not available in Malaysia until today (tu yang cepat je awok gi Bangsar iyer, panjang tul kaki).

Bila melihat....wow!...berat dah kembali kepada asal. Like before pregnant. This is amazing coz I remember that I did not shed that fast during my first pregnancy. I took 1 year to reach to my original weight during my first pregnancy.

I'm still breastfeeding by the way tapi perasan susu dah kurang sikit sejak batuk kronik hari tu. For your info, last 3 weeks I was coughing like mad ( I rasa paling teruk pernah I alami) and I was on medication. My milk production jatuh from 3 bottles per 8 hours work to only 2 bottles now. So, baby Amar has to drink formula (mesti kasi Anmum sebab yang tu proven lesser sugar than Enfalac kan?). But I must breastfeed until he reaches 2 years old....just like abangnya Amir.

My colleague (Ira) said that I lose 500 calories for every pumping session. But, to be fair, I memang makan banyak so I rasa I breakeven la kot. But, masa batuk kronik tu, memang I tak makan coz I really could not swallow. Adakah berat ini sementara?

Oh, harini I am wearing a kebaya for the first time after 7 months (cheh, cas kurus la tu)...hahahaha....

Andddddd...... waiting for my Spanxxxx...wuu huuu...next week...

Anyway, I love this weight now but I'm gonna try to shed some more. If I can't do that, at least I would like to maintain this weight and the body curve (with the help of Spanx)...hehe

Haha....sekarang dah mula cuti sekolah maka banyak lah kenduri kahwin akan berlangsung...kalau kenduri kawin yang kena pegi tu, biasanya I will just recycle barang bawah katil...

Hah?..Apa itu barang bawah katil?...ia adalah a collection of our wedding gifts (which are unopened and some are good stuffs, some are expensive yo!) but normally kalau ikut hukum 'first-in first-out', barang yang akan diberi adalah yang kureng disukai...(macam BUKAN hukum first in first out jer...) anyway, kalau kenduri kahwin kawan rapat, memang hadiah bukannya dari sini ok, this applies only for those yang tak rapat, yang tak kenal punya....heheh.......

Kenapa bagi barang bawah katil? Ia adalah kerana pelbagai sebab. Sebab yang sangat selalu ialah, tak sempat nak beli hadiah or "eh, tiba-tiba ada wedding ker?"....ini memang mengundang untuk mengambil barang bawah katil.

Bagaimana meng-cover bahawa ia adalah barang bawah katil? Haha senang jer, beli lah wrapping paper yang sangat cantik pastu hias and deco kasi lawa-lawa pastu serahkan ke mak pengantin apabila tiba hari perkahwinan tersebut...(agak keji ke?)

Apakah kesan sosial atau kesan emosional apabila kita memberi barang bawah katil? Seriously, takde kesan. Sebab? Sebab kita tak kenal pengantin tuh. Ini just to get rid of the barang bawah katil and also sebagai courtesy bila menghadiri majlis perkahwinan orang yang tidak dikenali.

Apakah reflect mengenai diri anda apabila memberi barang bawah katil?.. Errmm, that I'm not a good person? That I'm so stingy beli barang untuk wedding pun tak boleh ker?...That I am unethical?.....Hmmm...I tak kisah pun sebenarnya, yang penting ada bagi something, I'm pretty sure barang yang kitorang dapat pun barang recycle, judging from the box condition and also ada tuh, siap tulis To and From ntah sapa2 memang tak kenal. Macarons Harrods KLCC and Qoo

Yes, this is my first time eating macarons from Harrods....but not the Harrods in London..heheh.....just here in KLCC lah....

They look so colourful aren't they? That 6 piece of roundies costed me RM18...which is RM3 each...so small yet so expensive....At first, I did not want to eat it, nak buat deco jer (coz colourful sangat) but in the end after lunch, after 4 hours, I'm craving for them. And so, I took the orange one and tasted it...it was ok....and then the chocolate one. OMG yang cokelat itew sangat sedap hokeyyy...... but the other colours just scored fairly based on my tongue standards lah....It's like, I wanted to have more after I had the chocolate one but when I took another colour the passion just stopped. And then I did not want any of them anymore. Kenapa yek?....I just don't know. I should just buy all 6 chocolates, baru puas hati. But mana I tau kan? Nevermind, because this is my first time eating macarons, I'll just take it as an experience that I will never forget.

And............ I also found in Cold Storage KLCC this amazing Qoo drink which I religiously drank when I was in Japan.

Iye, itulah term kitorang sekarang....for your info, WhatsApp Messenger is the mobile messaging app that allows users to exchange messages with contacts using the internet without needing to pay for SMS. I like this because I don't have to pay for every 'ok' and 'hmm' that I sent. I like this chatting kinda thing in my phone. Its anytime, anywhere...(tapi mesti ada connection la). And, the best thing is I can contact my hubby without pressing 'call' (tapi kalau urgent tu, terus call je la kan). Now, Whatsapp even have group chat so it's even more exciting coz kalau ada gossip, cakap sekali jer semua orang tau, no need to rewind dua tiga kali.

It all started with my Dr. brother....he is the first Mac user at home, followed by hubby....lepas tu, dah jangkit kat semua ahli keluarga. Bila nak makan pun, Whatsapp jer, senang...tak payah nak terpekik -pekik, baby Amar selalu terkejut nengok mak dia apsal la asyik jerit jer...

Dengan whatsapp juge I can send pictures and videos like for example when my hubby was stuck at the Komuter station, he sent me a picture of the train that was stuck on the rail and the whole lot of people waiting on the station. I also send to him pictures of kiddos tengah tido or posing. My point is, it narrows the gap between me and hubby. Kalau dulu, I harapkan dia call, dia pulak harapkan I call, now, kitorang just Whatsapp jer kalau tengah boring or ada gossip.

Tapi, Whatsapp ni kena bayar USD0.99 tau. Tapi I got it for free coz hubby dah install. Menurut hukum Mac, 1 download hanya boleh guna untuk 5 devices sahaja. So, mine is included..........hehe...

Another thing is Emoji (but the free version), eh macam Momiji lak. As taken from Wikipedia, Emoji is the Japanese term for the picture characters or emoticons used in Japanese wireless messages and webpages. It has 469 symbols and emoticons, so bestla dapat ...........

This Emoji is not supported by most of the devices (actually you can download but you will have to Google it, I'm sure you'll find how to do it).

So, dengan peredaran masa dan teknologi yang begitu canggih skang nih, janganlah kita lupa kadang-kadang call atau face to face meet lebih baik dari Whatsapp or Twitter.

Antara Check in dan Tagging

Sekarang ni rata-rata mereka yang guna smart phone suka check-in mana-mana mereka pergi. For example, you check-in into a place say a famous eatery or in shopping malls or like a friend I know who loves to check-in into a 'private place' (errmm you know like really private). Anyway, I am just not a fan of checking in places but sometimes I do check-in when I feel like it.

Sometimes people love to check-in because they want to be the 'mayor' of that place (if using foursquare) and sometimes some people just want to tell friends on FB and Twitter that they are here and there.

Checking-in excessively may cause you trouble coz people know where you are and where will you be. So this information may warrant some 'friends' to stalk you or may lead to dangerous situations of kidnap or killing but, in most cases, its just for fun.

Even though I am not a fan of this, I have a good story to tell. One day I checked-in with hubby in a famous shopping mall. Our old friend in FB responded that she and her hubby were there too and guess what, we met, had dinner and chit chat after more than 10 years since our last meet!!!

Another incident was when an old friend sent me a mesage in FB and invited us for a lunch meet (but very short notice so we already had other plans) but we went for the lunch after all because mostly I really wanted to meet them but was so busy and pre-occupied with work and family that I could not find time to meet up with old friends, especially these are old friends who just gave birth.

So, my point is with smartphone and internet in your hands, you can connect with friends faster than the normal rate of logging on to a computer. I mean, like during weekends I don't even touch the computer, so you can imagine that I would just slightly missed meeting them coz I log-in on Monday the next week.

So, ada baiknya check-in nih but I still won't over do it.

As for tagging, I selalu kena yang tag yang nih…tapi I tak suka yang nih.. I suka keropok lekor sagu dari peramu, Kuantan sahaja…

Now it has become a trend especially if its for MLM. So, if you are annoyed by it, just untag and move on with your life. I think if you untag once, they will not untag you in future. To me, FB is more for business and uploading pictures jerr....I think its getting boring...Well, I don't know, maybe its just me.

Old Medela Mini E story

Yay! My Medela Mini E is still in excellent condition. I got it checked and serviced at Medela UOA Bangsar. When it was put on for the first time since 4+ years, there it was, the 'potong rumput' sound was there but there was no suction. It did not work until Nurul changed the valve (Nurul is the technician there). But I was not convinced as there seemed to be nothing wrong with it. Until Nurul showed me that the valve is broken. The valve is such a small yellow thing but it has a major role in making the machine works. I am so happy now that I can let go my old Medela with a peaceful mind (rasa seronok dpt tolong ibu-ibu yang menyusu ni).

My best friend: Amway Polishing Scrub

Ok, I am really not a fan of MLM but I must admit that my only existent facial scrub is an Amway product (Artistry Essentials - polishing scrub).

I used to use St. Ives Apricot facial scrub (for years) and then suddenly one nice day the scrub just dissapeared from the market. I could not find it in any leading pharmacy anymore. So I had no choice but to find alternatives.

Macam-macam facial wash I cuba. Kejap Oxywash (too oily), then I tried brand Simple (too neutral - takde effect langsung...mukaku masih berminyak) and then I also tried J&J facial wash, pun masih tak berkesan. So last-last jumpa la produk Amway ni.

And it been with me for approx 5+ years now and still loyal to it. What I like most is the tiny bits of the scrub itself. Its not too hard on my face and I love the smell, so fresh and most importantly I feel my face is clean every time after using it. I love it!

A Tutti Frutti affair

I've heard about Tutti Frutti and how delicious it is. And so, I heret hubby and kiddos pegi makan Tutti Frutti...the nearest at my MIL's is in Berjaya Times Square (BTS). Sedap!!….Lepas tu I heret hubby gi kat Sunway Pyramid pulak coz Amir has been on it eversince we had the first one in BTS.

RM18 (253 grams, sekali makan) - Seriously, the picture does not do justice..it was way better looking..

Tapi mahal ok. Tak puas makan lak tu...so, sebab tak puas hati kerana mahal dan tak puas makan, I decided to make our own frozen yogurt. And so we went to the Cold Storage situated in lower ground floor and bought a tub of frozen yogurt (RM28.99) (ceh, konon nak buat sendiri la tu)...

For the condiments, we bought a can of sliced peaches (RM3.79) and fruit cocktail (RM9.69) Hershey's Chocolate sauce (RM12.69) and chocolate rice (RM6.99).

RM62.15 (lebih dari 10 kali makan, heh)...is it worth it?

Nevertheless, I would still want to have another Tutti Frutti.....

Almiraz prawnchicktoast

I don't know why but recently I am so rajin to make minum petang for 3 weekends now. My favourite is cucur ikan bilis...then last week was roti sadin. Today pulak I made hubby's fav. I call it Almiraz prawnchick toast. I learnt this recipe from a Thai chef (I used to work in a Thai-Malay restaurant semasa di perantauan). So here's the recipe:

Dice a bit of prawns and chicken.
Blend some onions,cili api and 1 small garlic... Then blend all together and make like a paste. Next micro dice a few cuts of carrot and mix them all together.

Spread the paste on cuts of bread and fry them in flat pan. Walla!!

Smartek mini sewing machine

So I always thought that I can do things, like for example when blogwalking I came across a crafty, creative website...then I macam feeling, "Kalau I ada tools macam tu sure I pun boleh buat punya..". But two things I think I can't and I really think these people are really gifted; sewing and baking.

I almost...almost yer..had a passion for sewing when I was in Form 2. Remember Kemahiran Hidup when we had to sew something, or cook nasi ayam or make small bench? Well, as for me I sewed a bag from scratch. It didn't turn out that well. So, enough said. The passion gone into the drain together with 3 turtles I released (I lost interest in having pets too). So, from the scenario above you can analyze that I am not that good in sewing.

But I bought this.

Isn't it crazy? I mean from the reviews of this mini sewing machine, most users complaint that the instructions were not understandable and comprehensive. But I found in youtube a step-by-step guide on how to use this mini sewing machine. Hence, I bought it through my aunty who used to live in Texas. Thanks Aunty Lin!

Anyway, now that I have this, I should start mending my son's shorts and hubby's pants as soon as possible...dah berkepuk dah seluar-seluar Amir yang tak berjahit dalam almari I yang penuh ngan baju I yang tak dipakai tu (by the way, my clothes occupy 90% of the almari). So, I should start now. Wish me luck!

Medela and me

Medela has been with me eversince I gave birth to my first child. From space-looking cooler bag to sophisticated black cooler bag. From Mini E to Swing. From 'grass-cutter-machine' sound to ' near-silent sound'. From 'one client-office-to-another' to own cubicle and office desk. Yes, I'm a loyal Medela customer.

As an international company, I must say that I have received an excellent service here in Malaysia. It all started when my Medela Swing kept on dying everytime I was about to start my pumping session. Even if it successfully starts, it will die within 2-3 minutes.I panicked the first time it happened and I almost wanted to cry everytime it happened again and again. I have been using my Medela Swing for 5 months now.

And so I came to a point of "That's it! I'm gonna have to take a day leave and go to the HQ in Ampang just to fix this thing once and for all." But I called first. A cheery girl named Hidayah answered the call. She told me to go to UOA Bangsar and have a technician to fix it there. Then I thought "Hmm..new office...must be interesting..." And so I went there. A nice lady named Nurul greeted me and the first thing she asked was have I got the warranty card. (Fuh! nasib baik I ringan tangan pos kan the other portion of the warranty card). I even brought the box just in case if they say that it's not an original product.

Oh yeah, speaking of original Medela products, Nurul told me that there is one shop that sells fake medela products. So mothers beware! Jangan beli medela products kat First Few Years at the Curve if you want to enjoy the services provided by Medela.Yelah,penat-penat spend RM700 - RM1,000 beli pam sekali tak ori! And the worst part is Medela Malaysia can't do anything about it. Ni macam kes fake Crocs la kan....

Anyway, after handing my warranty card, my name appeared in their system. Weeee~~~. Happy number 1. So, after she scrutinised my Medela motor, and proven faulty, she handed me a form and a new motor! Weee~~~~. Happy number 2. Now I can pump happily without any worries. Weee~~~. Happy number 3. If it happens again, Medela can fix it free of charge (that is, if you have the warranty card, during the warranty period) and even if you have exceeded the warranty period of 1 year, they will only charge you RM35 as compared to RM45 if you don't have the warranty card.

After that was settled, I cuci-cuci mata in the office.

MAC and Wonder Woman…..and me

Eversince I missed M.A.C's Hello Kitty Collection for Spring 2009, I vowed to myself that I would never miss M.A.C's limited edition collection again. Not that I would buy everything that they offer but just to have a feel of the limited edition collection.

So last 2 weeks there's this MAC Wonder Woman Colour for Spring 2011.

I got to know this from an sms from MAC. That moment I straight away called them for a test make up session. And so my family and I went to MAC on one of the Sundays in KLCC. The test was done by Charlie and she really did an awesome job. My hubby loves how my eyes glow with the colour that she used for my eyes area. Since me and hubs love it, I bought the Wonder Woman Eyeshadow X4: Defiance, a Wonder Woman Lipglass and a MAC liquid eyeliner. So after the make up session I should look like this:

Nah, I didn’t look like that but I was excited though coz it was the first time (no, it was the second time coz the first time was when I had a test make-up before my wedding). So, basically, after the make-up test, and if you puchase the items, you will be entitled for a photo shoot with the Malaysian Wonder woman herself. Woooo hooooooo!!!….

Oh, I must tell you this, the eye make-up was fine but removing it was a big problem coz I don’t have an eye make-up remover (yes, I know, it means I don’t use make-up so often)….until my MIL gave me this:
